1911, Vancouver Province reports on a Montreal lecture: evergreen headline.
In the midst of a nasty union dispute my father designed a decal that portrayed anti-union forces in a greatly offensive manner. One sticker was placed on the engine of Pierre Trudeau's jet; legend says the great man refused takeoff until it was removed.

Someone we know was about to pour out a case of beer saying it was probably no good as it was a year old and we rescued it because what's the absolute worst that could happen? If I died people would say, "Hey Rob died from beer." "Oh wow? That sounds about right".

I've only gone on a whale watching tour once, off Tofino.
We didn't see any whales but we saw the ship Leviathan II nearby rocking violently in the rough seas. A year later that ship capsized killing six. So I'm not a big whale watching fan to be honest.

Note to next year's potential council candidates: you have to promise more than force other levels of government to lower housing costs and solve homelessness.

Trump was in the oval office today telling us once again that the word "groceries" is a new and/or old fashioned word.
In case you were wondering about the state of human civilization.

My very perceptive wife noticed image #43 depicting the big walk-in closet only half-full of men's short sleeve shirts. She says this is what a newly divorced man's closet looks like.

I'm increasingly of the opinion that the tech bros like Elon promoting AI are themselves empathy deficient. They don't understand the vitality of human interaction, indeed they likely find greater comfort interacting with technology than with people.

World War I was a disagreement among Queen Victoria's offspring about getting revenge for the murder of a has-been never-was minor Archduke that quickly spun out of control because the diplomats were on summer vacation.
Let's honour our veterans by making sure that shit never happens again.

If you're in England and in the mood for a great dessert go to county Kent in the south of England, there you'll find the city of Dover. Then board the Eurostar train to Paris.
