A month ago, I was in a hospital bed after colon cancer surgery, unsure of what recovery would look like. Healing has been slow —some days hopeful, some tough—but the kindness people have shown has carried me.

For me the fall/winter months are a time to hibernate, heal and go inward to see what the next version of me will look like. I’m not sure what awaits as I get ready to open another door, BUT, I am grateful for being able to!!

2 weeks and 1 day post Colon Cancer Surgery, and I'm itching to get out to the woods. BUT I am taking it slow. I'm just not used to all this inactivity, but if that is the worst of my worries, I'm doing pretty damn good, and I appreciate all the great vibes from everyone
