44, divorced dad going back to college for a PhD. Nerd, gamer, workaholic, eternally single.
Tried #Pie5Pizza today, students have raved about it.

It barely rates above CiCi's and only that because the ingredients tasted fresh.

Otherwise it really wasn't worth the price. Crust tasted off (think stale pretzel), not enough cheese, toppings kept falling off.

It wasn't once and I still do it.

And if I time it right, I "open" the doors at the market when I walk up to them.

Got to love #NPM cultists.

"What do you mean you aren't using NPM? How can you be a serious developer if you aren't using NPM?"

"Some of my clients require full auditing of every piece of software in the supply chain and NPM introduces too many dependencies."

Got accepted into another honor society, applied and got approved for their branded CC from Commerce Bank.

"We tried calling you to verify but keep being told you were unavailable."

"My system asks for your name and reason. Y'all failed to provide that so it blocked you."

Thoughts?
We know we’ve been quiet, been taking care of clients.

But we had an absolutely horrible idea.

Make a game, and have all assets be 100% AI generated.

The game name: AI Slop.

Got to love getting beg bounties on Thanksgiving.

I wonder when #Apple will let us block this AI Slop in the Stocks App.

So it looks like the Hearst Business Media Corp is working with warranty scammers.

Michael Toplen - Warranty Scammer Extraordinary who willfully and knowingly ignores C&D's

Instead of buying things that are on "sale" after being marked up to give you the impression of a deal.... just spend time with your family.

Experience life with your family. Life is fleeting, make memories and feelings while you can.
black friday is the biggest spending weekend in america. consider not buying anything this year.

Going through my movies while working, up to the F's and watching Fifth Element.

Wondering how much fun #ChrisTucker, #BruceWillis, #MillaJovovich (and all of the others) had while filming it?

Reviewed my gmail settings for my company account. All "smart" features have been disabled thankfully.

Would strongly encourage others to do the same.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Just talked with the lawyers in the predatory student lending case as they wanted my testimony to challenge the motion by the DoE regarding delaying honoring their promise to discharge debts.

Total Borrowed: $22,748.47
Total Paid: $29,646.10
Current Balance: 20,191.22

More and more games are coming out using AI for various things.

I’m now considering intentionally writing a game that the content is 100% AI generated. Story, art, sound, all of it. And advertising it as “this is why companies should avoid generative AI in games.”

Just heard that the DoE has filed a motion with the courts to extend the deadline for deciding on Post Class Applications on the Sweet v McMahon case (predatory lending on student loans).

They want another 18 months as the January 28, 2026 deadline is fast approaching.

What is the world coming to when I see this disclaimer on a blog post:

Disclaimer: this post was proudly written without the help of AI, so deal with my English grammar, but the author here took the time to write every single word

You know, since moving into these apartments, I was hoping it would be longer before I heard someone fucking.

Nope, it's the room above me.

Gotta love Reddit.

"I'm build a simple one page site that uploads an image and then updates an element with returned text. Should I use React, Vue, or Vanilla TypeScript?"

Just use JavaScript, it's simple enough you don't need to add any kind of complexity to it.

Hey @shenet.works are you doing ok?

I think this is the best compliment I have ever received, and it's from one of my "adopted" kids:

"I thought my life was just fine and all was good. Then I met you, someone who actually cares, and I realized just how shitty things were."

All I did was be someone she could talk to.

Doing a late night uninstall of #CrowdStrike for a client.

Their customer service is abysmal.

"You're competing against Microsoft Defender. All we're asking is help with getting SIEM ingestion working. Can you help?"

All we got were sales pitches, no help.

Just had a horrible thought that I would do as a professor.

Caught once using AI on an assignment without permission, reported to the school for cheating and a -100 on the assignment.

Caught a second time, no referral but get a 0 in the class at the end of the semester.

So was scrolling through some #YouTube shorts and of course the ads are interjected.

4 were for AI companies. 3 were sexualizing Disney characters to "create your perfect woman" and 1 was advocating for suicide.
