A crucial win and the best 5-on-5 game of Demidov’s career. Also, top marks for Nick Bobrov so far as Canadiens head scout.

All in this Call Of The Wilde for Global Montreal.

Call of the Wilde: Ivan Demidov on verge of breakout as Habs down Jets - Montreal | Globalnews.ca
Two losses. That's the point at which an NHL team must recover to stop the bleeding. Teams with a lot of three-game losing skids often don't make the playoffs.

Why did Kapanen line get more defensive responsibility?

MAL- Experience for the Kapanen line. We’re gonna need them. They’re never gonna gain that experience if we don’t give them more and we’re gonna need them to have it later.

@bwildemtl.bsky.social if I may, a candidate for the Wilde goat should be Matheson’s sticks!.😂

It’s like the switch went off in Slafkovsky’s mind and He no longer sees himself as a young developing player but as an impactful NHL player who can be a factor on every shift.
December 4, 2025 at 3:16 AM
Like that call by Marc Denis, Kappanen does indeed understand how to play with Demidov: follow the play, find the openings, read your angles and just get shots off quickly

Habs are having a miserable time getting the puck out of their own zone an are then forced to run around to get possession.
December 4, 2025 at 2:18 AM
Xhekaj may have won that fight an that’s good but if I am the Winnipeg Jets, I would also be very pumped that my captain took on a heavyweight after a clean hit

This is such a huge game for Montreal in my opinion. More than a win, If they don’t come out angry and motivated, I will have to question the teams make-up.

Some impressions:

-Texier is fortunate to be getting this opportunity. He better give everything he has on every single every shift.
- clear message being sent to Bolduc.
- I hope Evans and Anderson will play guilty. They have not stepped up with all these injuries.
Canadiens warmup lines vs Jets:

Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovský
Texier-Kapanen-Demidov
Anderson-Evans-Gallagher
Davidson-Veleno-Bolduc

Matheson-Dobson
Struble-Hutson
Xhekaj-Carrier

Just a small but important reminder that our health care workers are our angels, working in a very imperfect system for not enough compensation.

What a season for weird accidents in the NHL. First Hughes, then Luostarinen and now Toropchenko suffers burns at home.

One of the best performances of the season for the Canadiens. They’re 6 games over NHL 500 and in a playoff spot after a win in Vegas.

Voici quelques uns.

Letang, 38 ans, 21 minutes par match
Spurgeon, 36 ans, 22 minutes par match
Josi, 35 ans, 21 minutes par match
Carlson, 35 ans, 23 minutes par match
November 28, 2025 at 4:40 PM
Tried to look at some defencemen in their mid-30's whose game is based mostly on their skating ability, like Matheson, and there are few still playing a lot minutes.

Letang, 38 yrs, 21 min per game
Spurgeon, 36 yrs, 22 min per game
Josi, 35 yrs, 21 min per game
Carlson, 35 yrs, 23 min per game

I think championship winnings teams generally start with a good D corps. A future for Montreal with Matheson/Dobson/Hutson/Guhle/Reinbacher and 2 of Engstrom-Struble-Xhekaj is a good mix of quality and depth to me.

Now to address need of more offensive pop and physicality

Je crois qu'il serait pertinent de connaitre les termes du contrat de Mike Matheson avant d'en venir à une conclusion.
On est pas obligé d'avoir une opinion tout de suite.
November 28, 2025 at 3:55 PM
How about we wait to find out the terms of Mike Matheson's contract to get the full picture? There is no need to decide now what we think of it.

Once i was convinced that the Habs were not going to claim Sammy Blais, I knew he his fate was sealed and he was coming back home. 😅 #terribleinstincts

It’s too bad that they have a zero chance of announcing a Crosby trade. :)
