#MusicianSky - Does your amp make annoying, vibrate-y noises when you play certain notes or chords?

The average person lived to be about 50-60 hundreds of years ago. The reason everyone fixates on the average human lifespan being 30 or 40 is because of the infant mortality rate. Half the kids didn't make it past 5; it dragged the lifespan average THAT far down.

Vaccinate your kids.

The news about Rob and Michele Reiner is a sad and sickening thing to wake up to. And on the heels of the shooting sprees we learned about yesterday? What a broken place this world is.

Clara is feeling good about it being #Caturday, and she hopes you all are too.

An odd season this year; we have a small faux-fir tree up for the Yuletide in place of the usual naturally-sourced sacrificial conifer. It looks small but welcoming, so I suppose it'll serve.

It WILL be nice to get into bed on the top floor and not suddenly wonder if I remembered to water it.

Well shit. This is big time sad news at our house. Caught several lineups of The Mavericks over the years. Great songs, and holy moly what a voice on that guy. #Respect #FuckCancer

JFC. Today marks 45 years since John was gunned down.

Also, a big shoutout of thanks to all who threw some coins in the guitar case during #BandcampFriday yesterday. You know who you are.

Today was a Tennessee Rose straight into the Pro Junior day. Guitar, cable, amp. Boom.

They tell me it's another #BandcampFriday, so I guess we're all gonna be driving Rolls Royces tomorrow.

Every music streaming service is in a race to the bottom and they will ALL get there eventually. The solution is to buy directly from musicians and curate your own collection that you own & play locally from devices you own. Simple as that.

Sorry, meant to post that first thing this morning. I did SAY it out loud in real life, though. My cat heard me.

COVID myths are foundational to modern fascism.

Stuff like the lab leak BS or the idea that we “overreacted” to the pandemic, or the claim that dissent was “censored” by the “biomedical security state,” are narrative pillars holding up the fascists’ bizarro, contradictory worldview.

Understand?

And yes, we DID listen to "Alice's Restaurant" this morning.

One imagines that the rest of the world is also thankful that the USA has today off.

Thankful, you ask? Well, the only thing I need to prepare for today's #Thanksgiving dinner is the Waldorf salad, so there's that.

Update: This was a pointless exercise.
Gonna work real hard at ignoring the state of the world today. I've paid attention all week. As one does. Hard to look away, really.

When A.I. has stormed out and walked home alone from a high school party on a cold night in a not-warm-enough jacket and kicked a bottle off the sidewalk while glaring at the moon through the bare winter branches because even the moon doesn't understand it, then I might listen to one of its songs.

"AI is a tool for artists to use"

Every artist I know would rather shoot themselves than use AI even as a "tool" to create a complete project. The point of art is doing art. You losers are too capitalist brained to see that the reward is the art itself.

"Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" is an absolutely wonderful song.

Excellent display of the Aurora tonight here in Western Mass. Missed the last two big shows because of cloud cover. Of course I left the house with no phone for pics. Whatevs. Great damn sky.

I like to post a link to this song on #VeteransDay each year. It was written in honor of my paternal grandfather, who served with the US Army in France during the First World War. He was one of the lucky ones who made it back home. rickmurnane.bandcamp.com/track/armist...
