#5debutalbums7074 #albumoftheday Steely Dan - Can't Buy A Thrill (1972) Tightly crafted, yet laid back soft rock compositions with country and jazz tinges. The band that 10CC could have been. Best track - Do It Again #NowPlaying #MusicSky

#5debutalbums7074 The Baby Huey Story - The Living Legend (1971) Sadly not an original. A Curtis Mayfield protégé with an astounding voice that just about got his chaotic life together to record most of this album before succumbing to his demons. Amazing soul music! Incredible story! #NowPlaying

The Skyhooks (Australian), band from the radio for writing songs about porn theatres and how good they were in bed. Pretty distinctive vocals and lead guitar riffs. Horror Movie is the stand out. But the whole tail end of the album is a good listen. #5debutalbums7074

Paul Williams Someday Man, not a contender and Someday Man is probably the only good track. But I’m gonna give Paul I little boost cause he always gets forgotten, but he really was a very strong and pretty consistent voice during the 70s. #5debutalbums7074

Labi Siffre self titled. There’s some good pop songs on here; Too Late and a Little More Line. It has maybe a bit too much of Paul Williams sensibility, but the arrangements are great and his acoustic playing is on point. #5debutalbums7074

Fotheringay's self-titled debut from 1970. As always a delight to listen to Sandy Denny's voice. A gem.
