Still, the matter of religion, grouping together, and creating a society stands. Gobekli Teppe doesn't track with known behaviors and tools. Therefore, the argument against hunter-gatherers. Maybe it was made during an evolutionary bridge. Who knows? It depends on the definition being used.

Yes. To an extent. I think that putting yourself in someone else's shoes and writing from their perspective is an important way to bridge divides. That said, I don't we they should try to tell a story we don't understand. Rather, find the similarities and work with those to maintain respect.

I think the reasoning is that the definition of hunter-gatherers is that they were migratory and did not have concepts of religion or society. The existence of Gobekli Teppei either disproves this, or proves that early signs of civilization go back further than expected.

“Isn’t that the brush Vessa made? The one she gifted Rami?” Ra’tha peered at the artfully crafted handle of the apparatus with which Lilein dusted the powder on his hairpins. “That was supposed to be for my pigments.”

I always felt the "rule" of eliminating adverbs and adjectives was stylistic, but there is a reason.

The brain "chunks" information and the chunk limit for working memory is 4.

A lot of paragraphs are 4 sentences for a reason.

So tons adverbs and adjectives use up chunk memory and slow reading.

So, I'm reading a neuroscience/writing book and it's really good so far.

The fact reading produces dopamine never occurred to me.

My ADHD breaks the reward system so, as a kid, I read constantly.

Because it was *literally* rewarding, and one of the only things that was.

Lilein is a character after my own heart. She struggles with self-confidence even after coming to love herself, and pours love into her hair as a way to reclaim it. It's ok to have doubts. She's gorgeous inside and out, and when she forgets that, Amadice and Ra'tha are there with gentle reminders.
