upon getting more information/context on the fic i'm seeing that louis isn't actually lestat's pimp in this, which i think is better, even if not historically accurate and largely removing louis' race from the story (the show, notably, does the opposite with louis' character).
re: the latest fic trends i think ppl focus on "ldpdl is a pimp" too much. YES he did treat women badly and he knows it but at the specific time the show takes place very few job options were available to him. ppl love the "pimp=masculine" pipeline for their loustat gender role obsessions. too much.
