The Resilience Institute (TRI) is a national, charitable organization in Canada. The TRI team works locally and globally with diverse partners on education and research initiatives that address climate change.
Last week in Belém, the #MountainPartnership put forward a proposal to hold an Annual Dialogue on Mountains and Climate Change. This proposal was well received by the Parties and will be further discussed at the UNFCCC climate meetings next June. #COP30

During Week 1 at #COP30, The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) hosted a high-level event on the Adaptation Gap Report 2025. This new edition brings to light the current gap in #adaptation finance between what is currently available and what is needed for transformative #resilience.

Investing in adaptation pays back. How much? Up to 27%, according to a study by the World Resources Institute (WRI). The study found that every $1 invested in adaptation resulted in $10.50+ in avoided losses plus social and environmental benefits—this means average returns of 20% to 27%!

Did you know...#COP30 is guided by a “Global Mutirão.” What does this mean? The Portuguese word “mutirão” refers to collaborative effort towards a common cause. In this case, the Global Mutirão is about uniting across political boundaries, taking action before, during, and beyond COP30. #COP30Brazil

The Resilience Institute’s president and CEO, Laura S. Lynes, is part of the UNFCCC Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA) technical expert group. The GGA aims to track progress in strengthening climate resilience and highlights what still needs to be done.
