It has long been my priority in office to protect animals. I’m proud to share this update about two of my bills that passed in the Judiciary Committee today and are now headed to the full #PAHouse for a vote.
HB 879, the Attorney General to investigate felony offenses of animal cruelty.

Our animals provide comfort, companionship and even medical services to their humans and I will always work to protect them!
Today, the Judiciary committee voted to pass two of my animal protection bills to be considered on the House floor!

HB 608 increases penalties for the ear cropping of dogs that aren't performed by a licensed veterinarian.
100 days in, we're about to send yet another reasonable #PABudget to the #PaSenate. Meanwhile, the School District of Philadelphia is desperate, and the WOAR rape crisis center has had to suspend service. It’s time to put Pennsylvanians first & for the #SenateGOP to get serious and do their job!
Thousands of people who seek services from WOAR in Philadelphia will suffer until the Senate GOP can stop playing partisan politics and do the job they were elected to do - serve the great people across PA.
Philadelphia's ONLY rape crisis center is forced to cut services because the Senate GOP has refused to do their job for three months. Meanwhile, the budget impasse hurts the most vulnerable people in the commonwealth.

It's horrible that PA currently ranks near the bottom when it comes to civics education. Changes need to be made for a greater emphasis in civics teaching so that our kids will have the tools to better participate & improve our society.
