Strong state & federal partnerships led to a $32.5M award to revitalize the historic Waterbury Train Station. This vital investment will better connect Waterbury to the region and transform the surrounding communities.
This has been a long time coming 🚊
Something’s happening at The Park!

The students and Danbury community are so proud that the entire state is learning what they already know!
Awesome job Mr. Betesh!!
House Democrats held another Steering & Policy hearing this week to gather testimonials from those who will be impacted if ACA tax credits are allowed to expire.
The urgency is clear and the time to negotiate is now.
The Hub Project & Unrig Our Economy hosted a call to break down the impact of the gov. shutdown. ACA tax credits, WIC, SNAP & public trust were discussed. Participants expressed fear, frustration & legitimate concern over what would happen if they lost insurance coverage or cuts to vital programs.
The Democratic Women's Caucus wore purple because October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month—an issue impacting millions each year.

It is never too late to ask for help. If you or a loved one is experiencing domestic violence, call the 24-hour National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE
$40 billion is enough to extend ACA premium tax credits for 2 years.
This administration would rather bail out Argentina, than make sure Americans have access to affordable healthcare. Apparently we have the money…. it’s the will that’s lacking. Let that sink in.

. @housedemocrats.bsky.social are here in DC ready to cancel the cuts, lower the costs, and save healthcare. Republicans are still no where to be found.
Tonight, as I lock up my office I am reminded what a privilege it is to be your Congresswoman. CT05 shows up for me, and I will continue showing up for you.
As a teacher, I know that students can excel academically when accommodations are in place. This move is a cruel gesture that puts so many students at risk.
Education Sec. McMahon’s latest set of layoffs is depleting the Dept. responsible for special education services for 7.5M students.
This is the office that implements the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, a federal law ensuring millions of students with disabilities get support at school.
Today we reflect on the sacrifices, cultures, and advancements of Indigenous peoples and communities throughout the history of our nation.
The successful implementation of phase one of the negotiated 20-point plan marks a crucial step toward long lasting regional peace. I remain committed to advocating for the self determination of Israeli and Palestines alike and an end to violence indefinitely.
My optimism grows and hopes for finally ending this war as Israeli families welcome the 20 remaining living hostages home.

I am also relieved that desperately needed humanitarian aid is finally reaching civilians in Gaza.

This day is long overdue and represents a significant milestone.
This Italian American Heritage Month, we join in recognizing Diane Zappone-Ricciardi as Waterbury Italian Mayor for the Day. 🇮🇹
We are grateful for her leadership & dedication as a true example of Italian-American culture in our community.
WIC loses funds each day Republicans refuse to call us back to open the government. CT made the choice to prioritize women & children, continuing to fund the program.
I am a cosponsor of the CARE For WIC During Shutdowns Act, which reimburses states for the costs to cover WIC.
Thank you Gov. Lamont.
This legislation will not pass in its current form. Instead of Republicans coming to the table to negotiate, they have dug in and think they can bully Democrats into accepting these harmful cuts.

Come back to the table and negotiate something we can all get behind!
Yea 54- Nay 45
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” 🧐

The Senate has voted on this CR 7x’s. And all 7x’s it has failed.
Votes cancelled AGAIN!
The Speaker needs to call the House back into session. Republicans want the majority, yet they don’t want to legislate.
Mike Johnson do your job!
