What a great showing in the Town of Norfolk for a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Firehouse. I was able to support this project with a $500k Community Project Funding grant. This Engine in the Icebox is getting a much needed overhaul

The Trump administration is speeding up efforts to dismantle the Department of Education without Congressional approval. Day to day operations have been shifted to other agencies with no explanation of how they will be implemented and the needs of students met ⬇️

The HELP Subcommittee held a hearing and I focused on efforts by the Dept of Labor to rescind the Retirement Security Rule. This would negatively impact employees who have invested their earnings in the hopes of retiring with dignity.

The shutdown is over, but once the $187B in cuts set in-people will go hungry, our economy will suffer & states will have the impossible task of filling in the gaps
