I was proud to recognize the hard work that went into the new school building of AMY 5 at James Martin Middle School at Richmond & Ontario. I read the Emily Dickinson poem “Hope” and expressed to the kids my desire to see their hopes and dreams realized in a new school building.

It took a while, but this week we passed the state budget. I voted in favor of this budget that makes historic investments in education, building a brighter future for our kids. This budget also provides important relief for working families, all without raising taxes.

It’s clear Republicans in D.C. can’t get the job done. Just like SNAP, heating assistance through LIHEAP has now been shut off. I’m working with our local utilities and my colleagues in Harrisburg to make sure we’re here to help our neighbors!
