As a result of the federal government shutdown, LIHEAP applications will now open December 3 - one month after they were initially set to open. This delay is devastating as it will leave more than 300,000 Pennsylvanians without heat this November. Read more here: www.pa.gov/agencies/dhs...
Families cannot go hungry because our elected officials can’t work together!
Due to the federal government shutdown, please note that no SNAP benefits will be issued November and beyond until a budget is passed by congress. In the meantime, contact our U.S. Senators and urge them to get back to work and allow this critical program to continue running.

The time for games and politics is over. Yesterday, we passed a budget for a third time this year in the PA House. My neighbors, schools, non-profits, and businesses are struggling because we are putting politics over people. Now, our Senate colleagues need to do their job and pass this budget.
Proud to stand with my colleagues in support of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth at the State Capitol! It's critical we continue increasing awareness, education and support for breast cancer prevention and treatment. I'm committed to supporting those affected by this horrible disease!

PennDOT has approved SEPTA’s request to use capital assistance funds to resume all routes on September 14. However, this is not the long-term solution we need for public transit funding, and there will be fare increases intact with this.
I hate traffic with a passion. Soon, hundreds of thousands of cars will flood our streets across the state—longer commutes, less time with our families, missed appointments, and parents scrambling to get their kids to school. #PASenate, get back to work! #FundSEPTA youtu.be/M-Po7aoMwQE

I hope you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! In observance of the holiday, my office will be closed tomorrow and Monday.
