DumbDay #265

"Get Down On Your Knees with MAGA Mike"
Would be the weirdest public access show ever.

But, the prerequisite to become a devoted viewer would involve hating America while hating more than half of America. How could that *ever* be popular?
DumbDay #265

Johnson uncapping his ears and getting up from a kneeling position to remark on how his god yells at him often

He acknowledgedls his spiritual orders are to cause pain, grief, and chaos. But, his god gives him an out by demanding he blame Democrats.

Tagline: MAGA mike believes his god is a partisan god! He confused god with Trump!

Either I have only watched parts of it, or, I can only remember parts of it
What I do know is that I've never watched it properly. In a theater would be, must be, the best. With the darkness/ tackiness that followed Burton's Batman, this movie seems just as bold visually

{NEW #SIXFANARTS} The ALL-NEW set of the day features six NEW Strip Characters from local newspapers.

...Starring Heathcliff the pre-Garfield.

#SixCharacters #Heathcliff #DennisTheMenace #PrinceVailiant #Dustin #CalvinAndHobbes #Blondie #Dagwood #KingFeatures #ComicStrip #Newspaper #Fanart
The six different characters from American comic strip franchises (but never ended or forgotten these days) that I directly selected for obscure reasons: Heathcliff (as cool to try to be popular, after Garfield's unstopped popularity), Alice Mitchell (Dennis The Menace), Prince Valiant, Ed Kudlick (Dustin), Calvin & Hobbes (the famous that the legendary artists refuses to exploit it as derivate products) and Dagwood Bumstead (Blondie for 95th anniversary ; used the Ami's eating hamburger meme).

I hate that not only is The Public can suffer amnesia at minor, barely consequential, simple facts but can totally blank a major one that spanned an entire year? Sure, it was 2020, but, dang!

A few days ago, I wrote up a piece on Republicans routinely forgetting when Biden took office and how the problem seems to be getting worse: tinyurl.com/3bdxp3te

I suddenly wish I’d held off a few more days. (The “Biden FBI” didn’t exist on Jan. 6. Trump was president at the time.)

Unsurprisingly, that is a great drawing. They/ he are/ is acting!

Also, it is almost poetic that there were two different movies with the two-headed man premise released in a 2 year period

Also, glad you did this cuz I misremembered that flick as a James Garner one

Based on Trump saying multiple times that these layoffs are to Democrats agencies or departments, I can't help but get mad and to think 2 things: by firing people and identifying them by a political persuasion Those Dumbasses are using the government to discriminate against employees.

Re-posting my very long appreciation thread from 7 months ago about the episode of Twin Peaks that Diane Keaton directed.

Short version: I think her work on this episode is very underrated!
connorratliff.bsky.social
February 9, 1991: Diane Keaton's episode of Twin Peaks airs. (S2E15)

It is often cited as one of the worst episodes of the entire series (I disagree -- I think S2E12 is the worst!) but I personally think Keaton's direction is fun.

I am gonna do a thread now of GIFs & clips, all from that episode.

The Dumbass and The Whatnot:

The picture book grownup people didn't know they needed.
An elephant in a seersucker suit holding a book called How To Sucker Voters is pointing at a guy with a flatop and a doofus look to him.
The elephant says:
You, sir!
You look like a man scared if other's shadows!

The first time I heard of the band, it was via a display at a record store.

Whomever the cool person was who put up the display (sharpies on bright cardstock) spotlighted two records:
Both bands were supergroups; from Seattle and Boston
There was Pearl Jam and there was a group called The Breeders

Pupparoo and Surly

Adulting # 120

Surly sees Pup and figuratively wigs out, with good reason.
Pup and Surly

Surly wigs out in how the hair on Pup is growing

Rapunzel reference;
The 1979s called and needs its missing caveman extra back;
Kafka-izing into a Garfeel hairball;
She feels in horror as she realizes he looks like a giant hairball.
This while Garfeel is shown licking Felix the cat who says that Garfeel has issues.

And, there is what he is doing here that is the worst because it affects all of us.

That party was decrying"Defund the police" and these fascists bypass the simple mechanism of increasing funding to invade cities
He only talks peace and doesn't act peaceful.

While I haven't seen many of or much of the ouvre you seem to be mentioning, is it really necessary to cover all, most, or some of them?
Maybe just award winners or critics least faves

Plus, the 1980s is a decade with so much obscure flicks; many treasures and skunks: cult flicks and flicks @ cults
We all know what you did, man!
Your life is a bit too known.

Meanwhile, while the Supreme Dealmaker makes deals with everyone else in the world except with Democrats, his lapdog in the House has news for his Do-Nothing GOP caucus

The House had a 5 week recess through August then they have been out of session since Sept 19th
Avoiding votes
MAGA Mike Johnson, lapdog of Their Leader, tells his caucus in the House of Representatives that they get another paid week off

Holding a grudge and a peace dove.

(Oh. And relax. No doves were harmed in the making of this cartoon. Let's say the WH staff found a rubber chicken for him to choke. They painted it with The Whitest™️®️ brand paint and told him it was the dove in charge of peace prize nominating)
Angry man choking a rubber chicken

Accused the peace dove of not nominating him and calling it a lowdown rat.

Boycott everything Dodgers related. Owner Mark Walter is photographing baseball fans, then using facial recognition to sic ICE on brown people. Then he gets to profit off their detention in the center in which he owns a stake via Guggenheim partners.

Also, fuck that guy specifically.
lizzielizliz.bsky.social
Mark Walter, the principal owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, also serves as CEO of Guggenheim Partners, a financial firm that manages over $325 billion in assets.

Guggenheim holds a stake in the GEO Group, a private prison corporation that operates U.S. ICE detention centers.

Obviously the past 9 months have been filled with Too Much Him.
But, maybe we would have had less mention of his Peace Prize Obsession if in every story the media when mentioned it included that the 2025 nominations were due back in January. Of course that would also required him not mentioning it
regalpastry.bsky.social
Indeed.
It is an emotive character which helps being one of few grunts.
But, zombifying is... Well. It will probably work okay.

He has always accused each of them with BS charges?

If he tried it with each of them, we should probably expect the charges to be "new" as in not like "fixing an election", "spying on me," or "being Slick Willie"

He'd try nitpicking charges. Even if he better not try to go there

MAGA Mike gotta serve somebody because his god is a vengeful one.
DumbDay #261 redone from yesterday, with new words, drawing and design.

Johnson bending down in front of a large fire
His back is to two, smaller fires which implore Released the Epstein Files!
The orange fire in front of him says,
"Obstruct revealing files!
Keep gov't shut down!
Don't Cross Me!"

Johnson says, President told him to pick a god or to take a hike so he will serve hiding the truth for him and let him do whatever he wants, even at the expense of repowering Congress.
