No nip slip ad for Game Over? 😆

I know Gialli tend to be misogynistic but this? Ugh.

All the best people have birthdays in October! Enjoy!

One of my absolute favorite movies and hugely influential. Just watched The Fog again the other night and the Witching Hour scenes in the opening look like they're lifted straight from this!

I did an episode on it last month. There's a lot to pick-up on second time around such as the weird time disconnects, Alice in Wonderland and more. Plus the filming was an incredible feat by all involved.

Oh that's what I kept thinking of. Garth Marenghi's Dark Place!
reelobscurepod.bsky.social
I am so overdue another watch of this.
reelobscurepod.bsky.social
I know! It's so weird when you go back to it. And that they sometimes had those random little songs, too.

Jeez, there's a whole mess going on with Marshall and Kirk. No idea what that was all about but go read up on the allegations.

Oh cool! I didn't know it was streaming now. Another for the To View list!

I just watched The Sect (1991) which is Satanism by way of Lovecraft.

At least it's Hamburger Helper.

I've had times where I was so broke we just ate Helper.

I think it's the long neck guy I'm thinking of. Definitely seen him somewhere. Probably like you say in a grab bag of random KOs.

I found this really disappointing. It's based on a true story and the actual events were more interesting IIRC.

True story: as a kid I was obsessed with Frank Muir's bowties and so got my mam to write to him at the BBC Television Centre. He never replied and I never forgave him for that. That is assuming my mam actually posted the letter because now I'm not convinced she did.

It is. As much as I appreciate slashers and creature features I do love a good ghost story.

It's funny watching it again recently but I'm sure Dean Cundey might have been channeling Messiah of Evil with a few of his nighttime street shots...

I started watching the first one but couldn't get over the Analog Polaroid Filter on everything. Does the whole movie have that look?
reelobscurepod.bsky.social
So I did and it did not disappoint.
reelobscurepod.bsky.social
Absolutely. A large part of it is just doing technical fixes and clean up, then just tweaking timings between subject changes, for example. You just don't get to be as experimental or creative as that work has already been done at the time of research/writing notes/reading. ☹️

I used to love editing videos (I did movie trailers for "lost" horror movies), as it's all about timing and cutting to the beat and stuff and forming the story.

Now I'm doing audio only and it's just not as much fun...
