Mike Johnson: "With Medicaid, we eliminated the fraud, waste, and abuse. We got able-bodied young men without dependents off the program. They were never intended to be there. They're sitting around on their couches playing video games. Yes, that's an actual study."

Just a thought… if Britain can rid itself of a Prince over Epstein allegations, what will we do if Trump is (duh) found complicit in Epstein’s crimes?

Time & time again, when faced w/ a judge in an actual court of law, trump’s DOJ is forced to admit they lied. I may be naive, but it still gives me a sliver of hope that they tell the truth in front of the courts, even if they still try and squirm out of it.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Zohran Mamdani’s comments on Islamophobia literally brought me to tears yesterday. He’s made so many people, including me, feel seen—and I’m not even Muslim. Whatever anyone thinks of him, that’s incredibly special.

Crazy while not surprising…
Stephen Miller on Fox threatens to arrest JB Pritzker for "seditious conspiracy" and says, "to all ICE officers: you have federal immunity in the conduct of your duties. And anybody who lays a hand on you or tries to stop or obstruct you is committing a felony."

BREAKING:

Jack Smith is requesting that Congress and the Justice Dept. let him testify in public.

In new letters to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, Smith says he wants to testify "in open hearings" because of "the many mischaracterizations" around his investigations.

There yesterday. Amazing place on so many levels.
I was in Portland a week ago and there’s just literally nothing happening. It’s not a matter of opinion, it’s not a perspective thing, it’s reality versus a world Trump is inventing in his head so he can seize dictatorial authority

Holy wow, +3.5 ppm CO₂ last year, up from +2.4 ppm average the past decade, and +0.6 ppm in the 1960s.

It gets scarier the closer you look at it. All this is a stress test for the planet, and it's buckling.

Two big reasons for the massive increase: wildfires, and the ocean sinks are shutting down.
