It’s more of an inclusion problem than a sequencing problem… but you may be on to something because that would open up lazy loading

It would actually just hurt the app’s more because they have less control.

Bluesky today can just roll out feature changes to everyone but if each PDS re-implemented the App View that wouldn’t be possible.

So it’d actually be harder for the PDS provider and the app developer.

@pfrazee.com I’m just curious about the bsky-lexicons account.

It seems like the lexicon PDS records should be under an account with the same domain.

That way I could find them by handle automatically and assume that they’d be correct.

I wonder why @bsky-lexicons.bsky.social is the one that has the 'app.bsky' lexicon records and not @bsky.app (or a subdomain)

It seems like that would've been a good way to distribute lexicons...

I know it’s not technically polite, but I love having a conversation with other people who are comfortable with short interjecting interruptions. To me it makes the conversation feel more like something we’re weaving together rather than alternating individual presentations. It feels more alive.

FWIW just getting indexing, backfilling, and querying with a cursor would be a huge W.

Also two weird use cases I’m hoping to cover for Skylight are:
1. Likes of Video Feed Generators
2. Videos by a given hashtag

This might be out of scope but the ability to add other data that isn’t stored on the PDS.

For example, we have the data for which videos people have seen but trying to join those has been a pain.

But I’ll take what I can get — I keep shooting myself in the foot while building this

Yeah and we filter all the same stuff as Bluesky but even on here NSFW videos sneak in.

So video is a little trickier and we’re still experimenting with what works best for filtering out NSFW videos!

The scrolling issue is a bug and it’s near the top of my list for this week!

We’re always trying to stay ahead of the NSFW content so it doesn’t end up in your feed.

Last night I added an additional filter which catches a lot of the posts that were slipping through the cracks!
