1) If I follow you, whether or not you follow me back is up to you. I know big accounts can’t follow everyone, and in any case it’s quite possible you’ll be bored by anything I’m saying.
In a year of truly horrible things, this takes dishonorable mention

Why do you call timeout on 3rd and 27? #IU?

My father survived smallpox.
My grandfather did not survive the great flu.
I’ve never had either.
Could it be, I don’t know, VACCINES?
I’m from the generation that remembers when these diseases ran rampant. Perhaps we need to be reminded with a dose of repeated history

IU is my 2nd alma mater — I was there when Lee Corso was still trying to coach rather than doing stand up (sit down?)

This would be the biggest football* game IU has ever played in — except that there is a good chance that they’ll meet OSU again in January.

But let’s win this one anyway. #IU

First the penny. Next, paper checks?

When the US Mint stopped making pennies last month for the first time in 238 years, it drew a lot of attention. But there have been quiet moves to stop using paper checks as well.

I foresee a ruling that somehow says that "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" doesn't really mean "subject to the jurisdiction thereof."

You're not seeing the defense and international conflict experts disagreeing because if the facts are true, it's one of the most basic things in the law of armed conflict: You cannot kill people who are "hors de combat," taken out of the game by injury or attack. This is Geneva 101 stuff.
I follower a few defense experts.

Seeing them all straight-up declare this a war crime without any him-and-hawing is uhm

Disconcerting.

Pete Hegseth must resign, as does Stephen Miller. Donald Trump should be subpoenaed before Congress to answer for HIS policy.

Honestly, no officer should need advice to decide if "kill these guys flailing around in the water" is a legal order
My understanding is that, at the height of the "drone war on terror" that when the military officer thought the legality of a particular strike was legally dubious, they'd have a CIA guy actually "pull the trigger". I wonder if that is happening in our current "War on Fishing Boats"?

Getting a new HELOC. Of course they want to look over my finances

"You had an overdue payment on the old HELOC last year."

Really? I don't remember that. (Spends the next hour searching records)

Oh, yes, I did. I was off on my final payment by three cents ($0.03). Which I immediately paid.
