@theprovince.com I know its been almost a century but it may still be worth apologizing for publishing this…
Editorial, The Vancouver Daily Province, May 17, 1933:
Great paper (thanks for sharing) but I don't think the paper's claims are as conclusive as yours. They specifically mention the question of competition from other jurisdictions as an open question that requires further research. (i.e. if all countries cutting corp taxes vs some cutting)
Sure, but I think promoting growth through lower taxes on investment will be beneficial to government finances in the long term anyways. The alternative is to rely entirely on the resource sector for our finances which I think has a lot of costs and too much of a boom bust cycle.
I think a greater emphasis and consumption taxes would also be good.
This isn't going to be popular on this platform, but I think cutting corporate tax rates to Scandinavian levels of 20-22% (from 25.98%) would be a good policy. We need growth to fund government and improve our standing of living.

I think it's a good idea. Scandinavian corporate tax rates range from 20-22% vs our 25.98% and they are both wealthier and more equal than us. Growth is pretty important when it comes to funding government.

The issue isn’t free votes. It’s forcing BC’s entire right-wing spectrum into one party and expecting stability.

Proportional representation would end the need for every conservative to crowd into one tent and let them champion different ideas without heavy-handed leadership.
It makes a big difference.

Fair Vote Canada board member Ryan Campbell joined CFAX Victoria to talk about BC’s electoral reform consultations.

93% of submissions called for proportional representation. The message from the public is clear: make every vote count.

I’d be curious to see a study one way or the other. People care a lot about travel time so I could see it attracting more riders even if people walk a bit farther to get to it… but it depends on the details
Isn't that mostly saying the same thing? The Hobbits need to change to survive.
Keep in mind the third and fourth parties are arguably pro russian too.

BREAKING NYT:

Trump just fired a U.S. attorney who insisted on following a court order.

Michele Beckwith, the top federal prosecutor in Sacramento, was fired hours after she reminded a Border Patrol chief to abide by court-ordered restrictions on immigration raids.

Really it’s David Eby’s mistake for not including one
I think you’s still want to raise to the max either way wouldnt you
Ok but the mayor will always run city wide and council races largely havent started
Not sure how the at large council voting system makes thr mayoral race statt early.

Thats close to the percentage of votes though.
I think the trend is the concern not the current numbers though
