During WWII my dad served in N. Africa and Italy (where he lost his brother), my mom made bullets. Their values included unity, selflessness and duty to the greater good. The country they sacrificed for is now being dismantled by a grifter and his followers, who desperately need a history lesson.
For no particular reason, the jingle just popped into my head this morning. I actually had one of these when I was a kid - pretty nifty🙂

Since, apparently, it’s going to be politics as usual in DC, it’s time to focus instead on what brings us joy. Edward Hopper painted what he saw around him. No hidden meanings, just what he liked. My favorite is Freight Cars, Gloucester (1928). Wonderful composition, color scheme and subject matter.

This needs to be rebroadcast on every major news network. But of course it won’t be. They’d rather keep pushing the usual pablum that brings in the money (while dumbing down the populace) than standing up for our country and speaking truth to power. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnGs...
We warned you about Project 2025. Well, it’s here…

Got hooked on Neil Young in my teens, studied geology in my 20s. I listened to L.A. (Time Fades Away, 1973) again for the first time in years and only just now realized it’s about plate tectonics. It took me until my 60s to discover this🤣 Great song, check it out!

Picked up the brushes again after a 40-year hiatus and career path that took me in a different direction. First one I completed is a view of the Elkhorn Mtns, the second I just finished are trees in front of the house. Still practicing but, it’s a start. Forgot how much work/fun painting can be.

Stitch has all the tenacity of a terrier, and then some. He may not be very big, but he has the heart of a lion. So glad he found his forever home with us😊

Gotta get away from politics this weekend (if possible). The more crap I see the more it makes my blood, well, you know…

We lived in Leadville, CO for 10 years. At over 10,000’ in elevation you have to like snow (and lack of oxygen 😂). But you didn’t have to go very far out of town for breathtaking scenery.

You really don’t need to go anywhere special to see art or beauty. If you open up your imagination and look, it’s all around us.

Some pics from the Hands Off rally in Helena today. Great to see such a large and diverse crowd of Montanans voicing opposition to what Trump and his corrupt sycophants are doing to our country.

Saw some bluebirds the other day (early spring?) so we cleaned out the house from last year’s nesting season to get it ready for the next couple to move in🙂

Elkhorn Mountains this afternoon. Sometimes a walk outside can do wonders to clear your head.

We lived in Leadville, CO for 10 years before retiring back to MT. This is the upper Arkansas River south of town. Drop dead gorgeous!

Is there a way to continually remind red and swing state voters of this? How about billboards or tv ads that keep a running tally of this waste, fraud and abuse (while Musk/DOGE keeps decimating the institutions that actually add value and safeguard us).

My very first true loves, Halibut (best doggo ever) and my 1961 IH B120. Got Halibut from the Bozeman shelter in 1976. Still miss her terribly. Please consider your local shelter if you’re looking for a companion. Lots of animals in there needing good homes and, pound dogs make the best dogs!🐶

Every state in our country has its share of natural beauty, and we’ve been fortunate to have seen a lot of it. After spending years away, we decided to retire back to Montana. Glad we did.
