Sumo was making a big push here back in 2023, and is now continuing to demonstrate why capital conglomeration like this is bad for workers and artists.

Since last year now both of them Timbre and Atomhawk here are gone. I applied to both of those places as they were expanding...

That isn't to say those people don't exist, as they 1000% do. They're just not running for a leadership position like this. Locally though, keep your eyes peeled for them.

If he does win, you can bet your ass I'll be adding more volunteer time to my schedule to help out.

This is why at the moment, Avi Lewis is who I'm looking at for taking over leadership at the NDP. In our current landscape, there isn't anyone else that is currently offering to do this that actually represents the ideals of what policy for the people really means here.

with the right leader, and a very clear policy message, I think you have real potential to do things like actually hold a balance of power in a minority government, or more.

We're about to be hit by austerity here. It's just what that guy knows to do. We need someone to actually push back on that.

One of the knock on effects of what is happening not just in New York, but across other nations like the UK (Zack and the Green Party as just one example) is this pushback on the traditional lines of power.

In Canada I know people want to write off the NDP after the last election but...

What I mean by all of this, is that it is important for all of us to recognize that it isn't just a person that will be able to do it for us. A person can be the front of an icebreaker, but it takes the entire rest of the ship to keep that momentum going.

We *also* have to get involved.

This isn't meant to be discouraging. If anything, I would hope, that knowledge is encouraging.

For people that know how to organize, or the *many* non-profits out there which have the ability to fill operational gaps traditional private sector partners hold, these are opportunities.

None of this will be simple to implement. There are plenty of organizations that have the ability to stand in the path of good policy change. While there is nothing in terms of resources preventing them, there is plenty of organizational resistance to jump in the path of them.

I do hope people understand that wealth is so opposed to public policy that benefits people, because they cannot afford to have any instance where it is demonstrated how possible and affordable those policies actually are. 🧵

It's just 4 days until gameday for #ExtraLife2025! One of the games we'll be looking at during the 24 hour marathon is the new Immersive Sim "Skin Deep" from Blendo Games.

The hour has arrived, and #EuropaUniversalis5 is out! I just have to get through my morning before I can start to dig in to this one.

EU4 released in 2013, and has been active ever since. This one is changing and adding a lot, and I'm excited to get back to it.
