Hello! If you’ve stumbled on my bluesky page you might see me working on the following projects. My glam rock Cheetah, Velocity (fursuit), or my silicone dinosaur creature suit. I’ll be sharing the process here as I go along!
rakule.bsky.social
Trying to keep my head up and think about how soon I’ll be able to work on Velocity’s bodysuit. I am excited to get that going! Gonna be so cool to see all the markings pop in real life.

Sucks being inspired to work on stuff but worried to spend any money due to the government shut down. Partner is affected and currently going with out pay. Ughhh wondering how I can scrape together funds in the mean time. This fucking sucks

Doing some finishing touches on velocity to really make the head pop. Mainly giving him another trim. I am often light handed with shaving fur as it stresses me out. I try to find furs in the length I need. Pushing my self out of my comfort zone!

Yea we have one I was just being lazy and was next to a toaster lol

You do it for both gloves and a mask. It prevents the mesh from “floating”. So the mesh doesn’t peak out the surface of your cast. But also prevents it from shifting like you said. I’ll spray down the bottom of the bib/ neck area for a mask. The glove I just spray along the sides of the arm.

I’d be a hit 😎

Haha mood. I still haven’t finished the silicone gloves I casted earlier this year lmao but yeah that makes total sense. Case this helps, for silicone work I spray glue the mesh in place to the core.( along the flashing) I’ll use Elmer’s spray glue adhesive. Makes it easier

Haha that’s funny we have both lol!

Yea! I usually do the pan. I like reheated pizza super crispy. I was just being lazy and my toaster was right there lol

Oil, cheese could smoke or cause a fire.

I was lazy haha my toaster was right there and well…I wondered
rakule.bsky.social
I love doing something then googling after the fact to discover what I did was probably dangerous lol oops! This time it was reheating cold pizza in the toaster lmao

Which, frankly? Was incredible, was really crispy! Probably won’t repeat but it was good lol

:( this makes me sad! Maybe it’s time to look for other places? Shouldn’t put your self in a place that makes you miserable! I understand money but maybe look elsewhere??

This is me every day. Why I never bother making hot coffee lol it’s always iced.
rakule.bsky.social
Oh wow these look really cool though! Have you tried pressing in say powernet, or mesh? Same stuff they use in silicone to increase its tear strength.
rakule.bsky.social
Ah nice okay! Just wanted to be sure. Unfortunately that hack doesn’t apply to all applications but it’s great for the most things.

I often won’t use silicone mainly due to weight. But you can avoid using special glues with silicone as long as you press other materials into it. The trick is the material has to have enough “tooth” for the silicone to sink into. Then the bond is permeant.
rakule.bsky.social
Makes sense! Sounds cool! I am always looking for other materials to play with. I am assuming no special glues then?

Case you ever wanna do a silicone tongue- you can press fleece into the back of the tongue while the silicone is still goopy. That way you can use any glue to glue it down. That said

Holden onto my wallet…

Oh cool! I don’t think I am familiar with this stuff! Is it a urethane rubber?
rakule.bsky.social
Ah yeah they’re partnered/sold their stock over to fox! I’ve bought from them a few times. Always been great. I just didn’t know if BITY started to sell exclusively through their site again. I know the site is still there so I wasn’t sure!
rakule.bsky.social
Can you still get BITY? I thought they went out of business.

And yes I have! I used to have an entire gallon of it but sadly it solidified. Only got to use it sparingly. I wanted to use it for a mask but never got the chance. Used it on a pair of gloves though.

Me wondering why holden’s 407 latex is $80 a gallon while monster makers 407 is $50?? Why is it $30 more…

It’s so true lol universe knows…we had a cold snap and literally the day I was going to the renfaire to dress up the weather spiked to 80, and 70% humidity. Next day? Light breeze in the 60s…like come onnnn
