There is still no way to stream The Lowdown by Sterlin Harjo (with Ethan Hawke) in Germany. Is it any good?

I feel like I regularly miss Bluesky posts from people I follow and want to hear from, especially from very different time zones

The Following feed is chronological, so time zones are an issue

The Discover feed is for other things entirely

There's a zoo of other feeds, all with deficiencies

it should be possible to hide threads that you can't respond to, it's frustrating to see an active discussion you can't participate in just because the original poster doesn't follow you

LLMs provide me with joy and dread in equal measures. I would like it to be clearer that there will always have to be a human in the loop.

In my darkest moments I think that even in “uploaded” form there might not be a continuous path to relevancy for humans.

Is that just capitalist conditioning?

There is this months old “not sure whether I’ll stick around here” kind of post. More often than not, they seem to. So there is hope for this place. Might stick around.

What about Lexx? (A Canadian and German co-production?!)
Any movies or shows to watch to prepare for Canada? (Also @gov.glados.computer)

(My) text embedding based discovery interestingly feels a little like YouTube recommendations: it will yield decent results for a while, then I write sth that changes my account’s average and totally destroys recommendations.

Should probably look into the “more/less like this” signals.

Took me a while to get why English native speakers would repost. Me, I liked playing it.

My main stack 2025 has been JSDoc annotated JavaScript, Go and PostgreSQL, on macOS and Ubuntu. Notable other deps: Caddy, pgvectorscale, pgx, tern, sqlc, TailwindCSS, Hetzner and good old Ansible. Claude Code is rapidly becoming my main IDE, alongside VS Code. Really wanted to like Zed, but failed.

Canonically the players just never quite adapted to doing DnD over zoom and when they each went to different colleges, they hadn't been able to put a game together. But they still talk about it now and then. The druid even commissioned art of their character done based on that shapeshifting escape.
If we lived in a just media landscape, this would now be a trilogy.

By now I have read hundred thousands of posts and find myself skipping them after the shortest glance. Sometimes I become aware of this and reread them, and the skipping was never wrong. I don’t know which criteria my prefilter is using exactly, but it works. Would be cool to have more insight here.

Can’t arrive soon enough! Also: $5 a month seems a pretty high lower bound. Is that just an example value?

That's "faster relatively". Responses may still take up to 12 seconds, mainly due to memory constraints. Optimized the indices as much as possible, but now, only server upgrades may help. Will look into that once I have some positive feedback :D.
Account discovery feed should now be faster and more up to date.

Any people from Germany (even better: #Hamburg) around, who are both into #Bluesky and #Podcasts (ideally in a similar unhealthy way like me)? Would enjoy connecting more over these topics.

I’m hurt. Also interested in whether sentiment changed. (I am just interested in the coding use case.)
Genuine question: who is the target customer for these $200+/mo AI subscriptions? They seem targeted to individuals, not business seats, and I’m having a tough time wrapping my head around who is buying these

We all reach a point in life where we must accept a hard truth: Sometimes we are wrong. Growth means listening, reflecting, and having the courage to admit when our opinions were flawed.

Anyway, after deep self-reflection, I now believe Nutella absolutely needs butter underneath it.
