five years ago i got top comment on a science channel's new video on youtube with a silly joke.
the sheer amount of pseudoscientific nonsensical mumbling responses i've received since then sometimes scares me. yet i cant bring myself to disable responses. it's fun seeing the nonsense sometimes.

i've been absolutely DEVASTATED ever since i learned that british english glottalization ("bo'le o' wa'er") is essentially the same phenomenon as american english flapping ("bodle ov wader") just with /ʔ/ instead of /ɾ/

Apparently the AI bros are on another round of "Hatsune Miku is AI, checkmate luddites" so this is just a reminder that the singer behind Miku was paid and still earns royalties, and beyond that, Miku is nothing more than a MIDI soundboard with advanced pitch converter options, it is not genAI.

"when ai takes over the boring everyday menial tasks humanity will be able to focus on creating artistic and literary works" was a very optimistic view before we realized ai sucks at menial tasks, and while it also sucks at artistic work, many seem to value artistic quality even less.
