Still feeling siiick. And this has totally derailed my game jam project, too. Ugh...

Daily dev update: I haven't updated in a couple days, so I thought I'd drop a quick one: I am very sick (just a bad cold) and am currently in recovery mode. I'll get back to the game soon, I promise!
Almost forgot my Daily Dev Update. I got the "bad end" code working, but I didn't get nearly as much done today as I had hoped. Starting to feel a little worried and hoping that my past failures aren't about to repeat themselves.
This is so good, I really like this character
Daily Dev Update: the main loop is almost finished! I basically just need to add in the ability to have the game show an ending. Then the game will be fully functional -- not pretty, but functional -- and I can start plugging content into it.

Daily Dev Update: Fixed a bug with the ability to have branching paths, but I'm also really proud of myself because I thought about a feature I wanted to add, then realized that because of the way I programmed the paths, it would work as is! Feeling really confident.

Daily dev update: nothing super fancy or exciting, but I got the system set up to load the events from the JSON files into a pool, then pick random events from that pool.

Daily dev log: workday, so not a lot of time in the evening to work on it, but I got some basic "branching paths" working based off player stats.

You continue to be the queen of internal shots
Daily dev update: got a little further into the main loop, it now checks to try to "resolve" the current story event and recurses down the JSON file if there's more to it. Next I need to start getting the player stats up and running so those can be used to affect certain events.
Daily dev update: no screenshot, but I got the game set up to receive JSON files that will store the event information, and started putting together the game's main "loop." I also got the UI to accept input, which didn't want to work at first and had me a little frustrated.
Dev update: today I made the very basic skeleton of a UI! It's not pretty, but it should be functional enough to build off of.
