NEW: SCOTUS appears unlikely to rule on National Guard deployment in Illinois until after Nov. 17 .

That means deployment will likely remain BLOCKED in Illinois in the meantime.

JUST IN: The U.S. Supreme Court wants to hear more in the Illinois National Guard case.

Specifically, it wants to know "whether the term 'regular forces' refers to the regular forces of the United States military" and how that affects the law in play.
