Cars, bridges and houses are constantly battered by the elements, Software is made out of bits, that do not degrade. It stays the same. So why does software require so much more maintenance than cars, bridges and houses?

This was the first week of me running Quel Solaar as a proper Game development Studio with 2 employees. I’m funding it all out of my own pocket, and while I’m very unlikely to see any of that money ever again, Im determined to have the best of times, and make cool stuff.

I just released a paper for the Wg14, that will hopefully help people understand the Effective type system in C.

As the developer passes the 5 stages of grief caused by Undefined Behaviour, its customary to pay a visit to the wg14 during the bargaining stage.

Russia spends 156$ Billion on its military (6.7% of GDP). If EU spends 2.0% of its GDP on defence that's 360$ Billions, and that's not counting Ukraine, Europe's largest force. We can do this.

Congratulations to Volkswagen. You are no longer ”the Nazi car”.

I'm looking to hire some creative junior C programmers in Stockholm, who have an interest in game design, to mentor and build a game studio around. If you are driven and want to build something, or know someone, let me know.

Prediction: US congress will fail to put a dent in the deficit, and tariffs and deportations will add to inflation, so the fed will hike rates again, Trump will fire the Fed Chairman and Interest rates on treasury bonds will skyrocket.

(Just posting this so I can say told-you-so if it happens )

I just got a long angry mail refuting every theory of why C is susessfull i made in “Why is C the safest language?”, but it didn’t once refute that C has been more successful than any other language in producing trusted software. 😘

After reasenly replaying Half-life2 and Titanfall2, for all of Half-life2s brilliance, I think I like Titanfall2 better. It’s aged really well. Newer games look better but Titanfall is at a technical level that still manages to fully realize its vision.

A guy I was buying a router from, was very impressed when I told him I have static IP address to my house. It made me contemplate the fact that almost everything impressive about me, things that I have worked very hard to achieve, are things you don't want to bring up on a date.

Today i wrote a function that takes as an argument a function pointer, to a function that takes as an argument a function pointer.

My work here is done.

A lot of people ask me how Implement, linked lists/vectors/strings/hash tables, and other common data structures, and I think most people assume i have really good reusable implementations of these after 20+ years. I don't. I always reimplement it every time.

Recurring C programmer conundrum: You want to allocate memory up front, but you don't know how much memory will be needed. If anyone have good approaches to this, please share them with me! Here are mine:

I'm trying to get my ridged body dynamics lib to work, and all material seems to suggest you should push bodies apart, when they intersect. I want a solution where bodies are never allowed to intersect in the first place. Its not easy...
