Ageing futurist, still commits occasional fantasy. Novels, games, comics, streaming TV. "The High Priest of Violent Science Fiction" - Guardian
And here's some final Proof of Pudding -

Just finished my 2nd play through. Back to back with the 1st = Yay for awesome game! But -

Didn't bother with the final boss fight or ending scenes. Had my fun, I'm done.

By contrast - played Tsushima through 4 times. Right to the end, every single time.
On the inevitable comparisons -

Yotei is more expansive, has more cool gameplay wrinkles, obviously (fresher tech, more pixels) achieves more in the sheer natural beauty department.

But dose boss fights, man!

Plus some awkward narrative flinching - yeah, it's Tsushima by a head.

Once again, I am begging everyone to swap out Die Hard for Braven as their Xmas movie choice. I mean - snow, family man hero, witty evil bad guy boss, lots of lovely guns n violence.

Plus, y’know, Jason Momoa…..

What’s not to like???

Just as you thought food delivery companies couldn't inflict any more misery on society:

Instead of using lowly-paid gig economy contractors to deliver groceries, they're replacing humans with robots, who, in turn, force humans off the pavement into road traffic.

Time once again to big up this unjustly under-regarded and little known Down Under noir gem from the 90s.

The combination of hapless aspiring criminal innocent Heath Ledger and his damned undead brother is just 🤌

If ever a film deserved a big revival/special edition re-release......

It also me.
Love sci-fi films, but always struggle with novels. My brain can't get to grips with: "Jake awoke in Neu-Croydon and trip-shifted his Snow6. He'd been zamping the Decortex Line long before the Tokyo Dataspleen Protocols, unnerving the Neuro-Eidolon Body who had once declared him an ultra Cyberpug."

It me.
See also: Fantasy: "Jakelfmir awoke in Ny-Croydonia and drank an Ulvesans elixir of wormwood and Herjolfsfjoror root from a Hexe vial carved by The Kummitai. He'd been an elf tracer long before the Grimsgil Kjolr Decree, unnerving the Dwarven Haugrs of Gray who had once heralded him Master Wolf-Pug"

We've scared droves of people away from holidaying in our country by mistake. How do we fix that?

- Make it more expensive for them.

Strikes me that the finest cultural advice you could give to any voting population right now would be "Treat your politicians like plumbers."

Both professions make a living from handling shit, and the better they handle it, the happier you are. But -

What I wouldn't give to have Dennis Pennis embedded in the WHPC.........
Press: "What kind of concessions are the Russians going to have to make?"

Trump "Their big concession is they stop fighting and they don't take any more land."

Yeah. That's basically how surrendering works.

Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

If I were anything to do with the Call of Duty franchise, I'd be scrapping zombie mode & introducing something called PUTINFESTATION - set of maps inhabited by grubby baboon-sized Putin creatures with flappy, useless little wings & ratty fangs & a long, lolling forked tongue.
