Honoured to have won the runner up for the early career prize awarded by BISA & their colonial, postcolonial and decolonial ( CPD) working group. My paper examines the importance of social reproduction for Palestinian women. Looking forward to being at BISA’s conference in Belfast
Recently joined the Green Party so I could vote for @zackpolanski.bsky.social I’m already so impressed with what he’s done as leader in a few weeks. 💚🇵🇸

Greta Thunberg, deported to Greece, says the targeting of the Sumud Flotilla is "not the story" @teenvogue.com — instead, she says:

"Israel once again violated international humanitarian law by preventing aid from getting into Gaza while people are being starved.”
Greta Thunberg On Her Detention: I'm "Not The Story" — It's Israel Violating International Humanitarian Law
“I could talk for a very, very long time about our mistreatment and abuses in our imprisonment. Trust me. But that is not the story.”

Today was the first archive trip of my PhD research! At Sheffield city archives!
Spent the last week in Naples with my bestie. Eaten a lot of pasta, swam in the sea and enjoyed some time off!

My first and last word on her or her stupid fucking wizard shit
Poster that reads “when you read Harry Potter you read with Hitler”
I just wanted to say, as I know terfs want to speak on behalf of me as a cis & queer woman but my life has been made fuller, richer/ better for trans people. I am glad to have met trans people, expanded my narrow world view & I will always fight for esp trans women to be in my community & spaces
Unfortunately for me it took leaving my village, going to university ( which also comes with a lot of class feelings) to find my queer community. It’s a shame I had to leave those spaces to find safety & community but my life has improved infinitely since doing so. I love my queer friends
I grew up queer in a small rural village in North Yorkshire. My past research has always tried to navigate the complexities of growing up surrounded by homophobia, without out queer & trans ppl or community. But also not wanting to homogenise the idea of what our communities must inherently be like
Thank you!! Yes I tried a few years ago and it wasn’t the right time for me! I’m also trying to not pressure too much if it doesn’t work out :)
I am really proud of the life I've managed to build- I feel immensely lucky to be doing my PhD, to have wonderful friends and to hopefully have a summer of continuing joy :)
Tapering off antidepressants after nearly 10 years on them (so many different kinds) I am really excited/nervous/ scared but looking forward to it. First, I have to deal with SSRI withdrawal symptoms, though!!!
Things I’m find keeping me going through doing a PhD ( cats of course!) working to good music ( esp on vinyl) & fresh flowers
Part 2 :) would recommend for anyone interested in feminist/ women’s histories!
