My Thatcherite nonagenarian grandma voted Labour last election and her only (but huge) issue with Labour is that they are all backstabbing Starmer rather than getting on with it. She will not vote Conservative anymore as she thinks they’re cryptofascists. I mean, it’s all a bit bonkers isn’t it?

Agreed, I presume they did it because they thought people would have a better grasp of the kind of level of spoken English that is, but… it’s extremely dumb and lots of people really don’t know what level of English that is or how it compares to what other nations are doing.
