That’s a very optimistic gloss. I’d be more convinced of that if they showed signs of aspiring to those bigger changes that so many people hoped for when they voted for them.

That is part of it certainly, but I also think that, if the achievements were relevant and significant, people would be able to feel that their lives had tangibly improved without the media having to tell them.
