She/her, norwegian/english, a splendid cat, very tired

I'm not good at ALT-texting and it's a lot to do with self censure, I know why alt-text is good, I still can't always do it, sorry!

Hei! Ny pinned post:
coff.ee/karinargh

People will listen to neuroscience podcasts 18 hours a day and never shut up about optimizing themselves and still willfully forget that the point of making art is not for a computer to generate an image as quickly as possible it is to activate different parts of that brain you supposedly care about

I am flattered to be the preferred cat seat, but I'd also quite like to use my tablet to do some donkey drawings...please

My today discount purchases:

-2x 10l cat litter
-4 kilos dry cat food
-2x12 wet cat food
-2 cat snacc pouches
-2 wool longsleeves
-some paper and paint

I understand why many fully reject the whole pushy consumer thing but, well, cats

Getting through my sorting mess enough to clear some table space, which is instantly rewarded by Her Highness.

She gets EXTRA royal in winter fur. Look at that floof armor

Once again I lose interest in a book once it gets into the last 25-30%, plot climaxes are boring, the first part of the story has already TOLD me what's going to happen here

I only really pay attention when the author/character voice is special enough to make the TELLING of the climax interesting

I've been known as, oh, an exciteable Scrooge McDuck enthusiast, and in light of that fact, I want to issue the following public statement:

I WAS NOT AWARE this man actually does own a pair of galoshes before I decided to share a home with him.

He shows no sign of wielding a cane or a top hat yet

Me, lugging in two huge boxes from the post office: so

Other human:

Me: remember I told you my parent took up knitting again

Other human: the parent who does not have an adhd diagnosis?

Me, stacking sixty-odd individually wrapped soft gifts in a corner: yes. that one

My wife has a theory.

The Belcher children haven’t aged despite canonically living through eleven Thanksgivings.

Bob is trapped in a one-year time loop, which resets every Thanksgiving.

He’s condemned to re-live the same year over and over until he creates the perfect Thanksgiving.

Det er ikke bare jeg som lager lange tråder om penn og papir! Men @colourmaker.bsky.social omtaler Ordentlige Greier, da.
Dette første bildet viser to penner. Den øverste er en vintage Pan Senior. Det er en norskprodusert penn fra 1950-tallet. Den har gullsplitt. Den nederste pennen vant jeg i 1/x

Author gamely explains the idea as "So I saw a Port-a-potty and I thought Portal-Potty and..."
...And my brain glowed a warm red in recognition of its own kind. And 'Shitshow' is my next read. 👌

Har du sett? Sykefraværet faller, helt uten at noen har strammet inn på denne altfor rause ordningen som risikerer å ødelegge velferdsstaten!
Hvem kunne forutsett det???

Cats are often annoyed when you move things, because, well, those are THEIR things. Of course. Former feral Sofie is the most particular little weirdo I've ever met, though, and I am one of her things. And if I'm >1 m away from This Exact Couch Cushion, she will scream about it. At length

Ah, another day of devoting just batshit amounts of brain processing power to "yes, I think I want to try the disc-bound thing to make my own notebooks and sketchpads, but do I want it enough to spend 500 NOK on a disc hole puncher first"

It won't leave my head until I just DO it, so might as well

Every time I consider aphantasia (the ability to 'see' images in your mind), I conclude that, at least in my case, it isn't at all linked to the creation of images through my hand and media (pen/paper, paint/canvas, whatever). I guess it could be different if my thing was hyperrealism, but-

I don't have many photos from childhood, so this one is rare. It's from my 7th birthday (and constitution day). I'm thrilled about a bag of goldfish crackers. On my right is my grandpa, in what I now see is Quite An Outfit. On my left is my dad, who would later decide he wasn't my dad at all.

Just did this for a chat, but I think I'll do more, so uh HELLO this will be the #pensamples thread

First up is the humble micron PN - I don't reach for it often, but it's a decent allrounder "I'll only take ONE pen to idle doodle with during the lecture" choice, also suitable for writing
