"hmmm wow yes this is adding some profound natural depth, there's actually some good to be had here"
[realises she had 'bypass' and 'effect on' reversed while A/B testing]
"oh well straight into the trash it goes"
maybe the most confusing local classifieds listing we've ever seen

"FREE plugger-inner for electric guitar"
"plugger-inner for electric guitar free"

nobody's out here recording a fucking orchestra or live band session on linux and scrutinising interface performance in an actually demanding context because the moment more than 1 person depends on your work in audio the odds of you using linux for it drop by 99%
if you're very lucky and have a class compliant interface it seems that as of about 1 year ago you're actually able to get asio-tier round trip latency via pipewire, whether that's stable god knows, whether there's drift god knows, can it even talk to the hardware clock on the damn things???
"usable: breaks constantly and basically never provides clean sound"
I like that "flawless" here means "works at all by any audio engineer's standards" and says nothing about the interface's actual performance on linux because none of these are going to perform any more consistent than really /any/ sound card, without driver support old.reddit.com/r/linuxaudio...
Audio interface list
Last year, I scouered forums and other places online for audio interface compatibility with Linux, this is what I found. Note that this is not an...

the median audio interface is a literal brick on linux and pretty much only the cheap behringer ones even work and we still need drivers to make ASIO work, it's a hardware implementation
like we need to be able to record real instrumentation directly into the program and know that we will not experience a single audio sample of drift or any single audio system hitch over the course of many minutes, over and over and over and over, as-is we can only guarantee that with ASIO
not going to happen music production environments are unstable enough as is, it's not a question of running the program, it's integrating the program with plugins and hardware such that we can achieve 5ms round trip latency & perfect reliability with all our tools present
though I guess a bottleneck to doing it legally (which is a concern if we're doing it for a JOB) would be if we can get the *license management systems* to work on linux
if this results in audio interfaces support linux properly and vst wrappers being reliable we might say bye to ableton on windows and move to bitwig on linux lmao

coupled with the previous 16 hour sleep it seems our body randomly decided to have a 42 hour day
I'm only now realising we've been awake for over 26 hours and should probably fix that
the least confusing addition to the lineup has to be the black Bass VI, with the thall guys having long adopted the begrudgingly more colourful variants, having one specifically for the guys who run them into mesa boogie amp sims to post drop Q clips on instagram makes a lot of sense
I have severe trouble deciding if the competition jazz is cool or an absolute affront to god but the antigua mustang might give both a run for their money on the 'but why' scale
the new squier limited edition guitars range from obvious to deeply confusing
no I think that's underestimating the median redditor's curiosity
starting to think the median bluesky user is indistinguishable from the median redditor
This kind of behavior is always kind of annoying but especially bugs me in this case because this is an 87 page NTSB report including both culture issues and detailed photos and microscopic analysis of the hull failure which I was really itching for and all previous reports were light on
it strikes me most of you have probably never heard what a dutch G actually sounds like given it's just a passing noise in that clusterfuck of a language so here's me pronouncing one single very long dutch G
