What is a SLAPP? 🧵

The Protect the Protest coalition is made up of organizations that understand the threat of SLAPPs; many of us have been targets ourselves.

We have combined our expertise and collective power to fight back.

President Trump is trying to deploy the military and federal law enforcement in U.S. cities to stoke fear, suppress free speech, and expand his power by any means necessary.

People across the country must keep pushing back and advocating for their communities and their rights.

Indigenous resistance reminds us of our collective duty to the one planet we call home: protect the land, honor the water, defend the sacred. #IndigenousPeoplesDay is a call to stand in solidarity.

Support Indigenous-led movements.

Land Back/Mount Rushmore (1868-ongoing)

#LandBack is rooted in the Lakota demand to return the Black Hills – land stolen and desecrated by Mount Rushmore. Since the 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty was broken, people have marched, occupied, and reclaimed space to demand the land’s return.

Like I said: Kristi Noem is a liar, has no honor, and we are lucky that we have a proud protest tradition that shows this administration we are not backing down. 🫡🐸🐔

The powers the Trump administration is trying to create "could easily be used against them by a future administration," FPF's @seth-stern.bsky.social told @sentientmedia.org.

"Legislation and legal precedents and norms outlive any one presidency."
Journalism Has Become More Challenging, for Reporters and Sources
Researchers are more reluctant to give interviews since Trump returned to the White House.

The power of the people is stronger than the people in power. We reject any and all attempts to strip away our rights and dismantle our democracy.

It's official — a court ruled that the public's interest in knowing if Elon Musk has a security clearance and access to classified information outweighs any potential privacy interests.

Great FOIA ruling in favor of the @nytimes.com.
