I just..don't anymore, or very rarely.

It sucks that you have to deal with mouth breathers like that. I just try to block them on sight, because I don't need them taking up mental real estate.

As others say, make the right choice for you, but your posts and art make many people happy, me included.

All that said, I really enjoy "Illumination Theory" from the self-titled album, and "Distance Over Time" is pretty decent, going for a relatively more "straight-ahead rock" idiom. So they CAN make music I like, it's just... then there's stuff like "The Astonishing."

I think they've lost their mojo. Since they discovered going full tilt Metallica sells records they're afraid to stray too far from that. Plus John Petrucci is just not a visionary of any kind. They can be more experimental, it's just hit or miss when they do, and the filler stuff in the meantime...

I've lost interest in new Dream Theater music. It is truly a choice for a band who produced a boring 2-CD concept album about how Real Music Will Always Win Over Artificial Music...to later release a music video created by AI.
