In what is being called a sharp break from tradition, President Trump just publicly celebrated the indictment of former FBI director James Comey.

Where is the outrage about political violence?
msnbc.com MSNBC @msnbc.com · Sep 11
BREAKING: Multiple HBCUs reportedly received threats, prompting lockdowns and heightened security
Public health matters. Violence anywhere has the potential to echo and resurface everywhere. This is a frightening time, especially for those of us in politics and for activists on all sides.
During the Vietnam War, we saw a surge of violence at home; Operation Desert Storm ended just before the Rodney King beating and the subsequent LA Uprising after the officers’ acquittal; and the Fort Hood massacre occurred in the shadow of the Iraq War.
From a public health perspective, this desensitization not only dulls our empathy but also enables those who inflict violence to grow numb to the consequences of their actions on all of us.
Unfortunately, by watching the violence in other countries, particularly the ongoing suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, we in Western nations have become desensitized to it.
The lower rent was due to lower desirability. No one wanted to move into the city. There is nothing in the world you can share with me that is going to make me side with upward redistribution of wealth.
Some studies indicate a decrease in overall rents from increased market-rate housing (Asquith, 176) but there are others that indicate the opposite or very limited effects overall (Li, 177).

The Illusion of YIMBY/Abundance

I am a city council Councilmember. I saw our numbers for ADUs, and of the many were built...how many became affordable? 0% It's a ponzi scheme that widens portfolios of private equity and real estate companies.
YIMBY is top to bottom trickle down economics that benefit private developers that gentrifies and dispalces. That is why YIMBY supresses rent control, tenant stabilization, tenant unions. Follow the money.
If you want to talk about "backwards" directions, let's keep it simple: I'm advocating and I believe the council candidate is advocating for a bottom to up power dynamic, grassroots mobilization and policy building.
Oh hell no! YIMBY = gentrification, displacement, luxury/market rate apartments, real estate lobby, Abundance trickle down Reagonomics. She should stay as far away from YIMBY/NIMBY politics and endorsements as possible.

Trump's immigration raids are about economic and social repression. They target vulnerable workers and communities, not the exploitative employers who profit from them.

We're breaking down the lies and charting a path forward rooted in dignity, equity, and truth.
