Shackleton sits relaxed with a cigarette in hand and a halo like a sun. The personal meets the creative here - my father is a heart surgeon and Shackleton's heart condition is endlessly fascinating to me; Shackleton's heart is highlighted in red to match the cigarette in stark contrast the halo of his saint-like status. The Antarctic might not have killed him, but biology certainly did.
