The first time I remember being sickened by Israel's genocide was in 1982, when it decimated Lebanon and engineered the Sabra and Shatila massacres. My father, who once owned Israel bonds, was so disillusioned that he couldn't sleep at night. It's beyond me how anyone can still support that state.

Damn, yeah he's been dark for a while. Nothing on his threads either. Hope he's ok.

Israel's invasion of Egypt in 1956 and its subsequent occupation of Gaza has been so ignored by history that I can't blame you for not knowing about it.

Given that "Sir Tim" created the HTTP protocol that the web runs on, and that most apps also use to access their backend servers (via REST APIs), I'd say he's actually nodding his head approvingly at all of us.

You've posted random statements to prove that some Hamas officials are antisemitic. No shit, just like many Israeli officials are anti-Arab and Islamophobic.

What matters are actions, and there's nothing that can refute that Hamas made overtures in 2017 and Israel responded with bullets.

It's the condensed milk that's the real crime.

Not worth spending the time. Read some history.

Sinwar was an actual leader. The others are just like those trash Likud MKs and we could trade bigot for bigot all day.

What's relevant is what the Hamas leadership did, and what Israeli leadership did. As in Hamas made an peace overture in 2017 and Israel massacred civilians in response.
pjeffe.bsky.social
Sinwar's, the Hamas leader that was being referenced. I'm not interested in the antisemitism of random Hamas officials any more than I am in the anti-Palestinian rants of random Israeli officials.

Everyone's going with bullets but my mind went right to the drugs.

The standards of today still suck so even if someone says this to me I’ll argue that I can judge a horrific person in any way and within any context I want to 🙂‍↔️

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

This is a nice overview documentary about the removal of the Klamath River dams and its impact. Some good touching interviews with Indigenous folks involved in the effort.

This is literal reparation, fixing lifeways that were broken through greed and treachery.

Challenges remain after the country’s largest dam removal project on the Klamath River.

The Klamath River restoration project should serve as a model for the widespread decolonization of Indigenous lands and waterways. There is so much left to be done, but with the efforts of people like Amy Bowers Cordalis the work will continue.
How Colonization Wreaked Havoc On The Klamath River
The US government installed ecologically devastating dams in the Klamath River, which were recently removed.

Post you from another era

(If this doesn't qualify I'm not sure what does.)
A black-and-white photo of a white teenage boy sitting in a plastic chair leaning against a brick wall with his feet propped on a chair in front of him. He has shoulder-length wavy dark hair and is wearing a tucked-in unbuttoned button-down shirt over a tee shirt, blue jeans, a wide belt with a large oval buckle with a drawing of Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull on it (though it's not discernable in the photo), and a watch with a wide leather band. He is looking at the camera with a slight smile and is almost certainly baked.

Gee I wonder what might have happened just prior to that statement that may have prompted it? I guess we can never know since history doesn't exist.

Israel's deliberate massacre and mutilation of peaceful protestors in Gaza came a year after Hamas updated its charter to accept a two-state solution along the 1967 borders. Israel's violent response to this overture for a settlement should be seen as the direct precursor to the 10/7/23 attack.

Throwback to the Great March of Return in 2018, a peaceful protest marking the 70th anniversary of the Nakba. Gaza residents marched, unarmed, toward the perimeter fence, and were shot, predominantly in the ankles, by IDF sniper fire. Victims included disabled people, medics and doctors.

"Let's see, Israel already had more per capita defense spending than any other country, their economy is now in shreds, the shekel is getting battered, foreign exchange reserves are dwindling, and Likud can barely find the money to bribe their coalition partners. But we have no leverage over them."

So many blue maga types joined last November, it was like an invasion. They're so tedious but there are some good block lists out there.
