The view from a Boeing airplane at 40,000 feet is quite stunning as snow-covered Mount St. Helens and Mount Adams rise above the surrounding forest.

Published in The Olympian on Sept. 16, 1947.

The image shows an aerial view of snow-capped mountains and a wide expanse of rugged terrain, captured from a high altitude. In the foreground, Mount St. Helens is visible on the left with a prominent snow-covered peak. To the right is Mount Adams, another snow-covered peak, slightly smaller in appearance.
