You don't understand, they stole that tradition centuries ago fair and square. Who cares if it wasn't one of theirs originally, or is even explicitly forbidden by their own rulebook, they had it when they were kids so it's theirs, and everything they didn't have as kids is bad.

To everyone who ever said I didn't "look autistic", know that I'm constantly running
ActLikePeopleExpect.exe in my brain, am not always aware I'm doing it, and it's eating up at least 60% of my RAM.
It's also the reason for a lot of CPU overheating..🙃

The disappointment can be mitigated with the right expectations. But it might be correct to expect disappointment.

If it doesn't sound like a good time, you don't have to go. 🩷 Maybe you can try some other activity to scratch similar desires?

Try to relax and have reasonable expectations. 🐱 Meeting people can be tricky, everyone might be there for something a little different.

Are you prepared to spend the evening watching others socialize while you are mostly ignored? It sounds like that's what usually happens.
