Most ppl know that Chicago (home of modern urban segregation) is a very segregated place but I don't think most outside Chicago (+many Chicagoans!) understand how the *distances* involved and *depth* of segregation mean most white ppl have ZERO visibility into many Black and Latine neighborhoods

All mtg discourse is like ten dudes in a basement 20 years ago stumbled into weird solutions to very specific problems and a good chunk of the community being too stubborn to say that the old solutions kind of suck actually. It's why comp magic gets to get away with stuff no other comp game gets to.
