With tons of dust left to settle, the 2025 Mets’ season is in the books.

Among a plethora of uncertainties, one thing is for sure: this team is going to look very, *very* different next year.

That’s for the best.
Luis Torrens should be a Met for the next two seasons btw
Dodgers scoring trends in this postseason:

Runs in 1st-5th innings: 13
Runs in 6th-9th/extra innings: 25

Wild Card: 9 early runs, 9 late runs
NLDS: 2 early, 11 late
NLCS (so far): 2 early, 5 late

Though their pitching has been great, it’s that late-game prowess that’s made the difference so far.
Honestly considering the hitting promotion from within, wouldn’t be remotely shocked to see Sagers from Syracuse or pitch dev director Jagers get the nod
Re: Albert, looking at his work developing the bats on the farm (especially looking at the progress of Jacob Reimer, AJ Ewing, and Chris Suero), plus experience in the dugout last September during that dream run, seems like a good pick. He was Goldy’s hitting coach when he won MVP.

Re: Correa,
Cleveland’s MLB Field Coordinator and director of defense, base running, and game strategy.

CLE was a top-4 defensive unit by FRV, top-10 by DRS. The Guards also had MLB’s second-best win percentage in close games (.595) - compare that to Mets’ 2025 mark of .487 (19th)

Sounds like a good hire 👌

Most RBIs in a single postseason in Mariners history:
Edgar Martinez 10 in 1995
Ken Griffey Jr. 9 in 1995
Jorge Polanco 8 and counting in 2025
Jay Buhner 8 in 1995
Alex Rodriguez 7 in 2000
Jorge Polanco is absolutely outrageous
I LOVE PLAYOFF BASEBALL
A lot of my Dodgers championship prediction is based on frequency and timing of scoring, specifically a demonstrated ability to consistently score late.

It feels *very* on brand that all but one of the Dodgers’ runs in this NLDS were scored in the sixth inning or later.
Oh totally, and I’m here with family for my sister’s wedding so thankfully this was just a momentary blight on what should be a lovely few days :)
Feels particularly cosmically cruel that I had to come to this city and drive past this place in this year of all years but alas…saw Hell today

Ortiz was absolutely loving this sitting between AROD and Jeter
It’s the best possible outcome from a storytelling standpoint. Seattle’s lack of a title aside, neither the Tigers (‘84) nor the Jays (‘93) have won a championship within the last 30-40 years. There’s way more on the line than usual, I can’t wait to see the caliber of baseball that pressure elicits.

People complain about starters not being allowed to go deep into games, but here's Clayton Kershaw finishing off the 7th inning in October, just as the good lord intended
The ALCS is gonna be incredible
I still hate the Yankees but shout out Aaron Judge & Co. for making me look smart for at least one more day
Wow the Yankees are making me look REALLY stupid, I hate them so much
Just wait til ya see the reliever list
Did the 'Name every 2025 Met' Sporcle and blanked on two starters...clearly my brain is trying to protect me from remembering these two were ever on the team
I really thought we were gonna get a Yanks-Dodgers rematch but these Blue Jays are something serious. Def wasn’t factoring in a historic Trey Yesavage start alongside a Max Fried implosion, that’s my bad.

They are called writers
we need a word for a type of person who spends all their time working to live in a city so they can be near cool things, but they don't actually like going out
What a season for George Springer
