There was a break in the cloud last night for a while. I think it's the law - or at least a convention - that people getting into #astrophotography take a shot of the Orion nebula as their first image. The highlights are a bit overexposed, but I'm happy with it.

Dunedin's bad weather over the past couple of days is my fault. You see, I got a new telescope (a DwarfLab Mini) and the astronomy gods demand a price.
It'll be back to clear skies as soon as I perform my duty to them by watching an episode of Cosmos.

I am *not* going to submit a scan of my passport or driver's license to prove my age online. If I have to, I'll spend the $70 on a Kiwi Access Card (formerly an 18+ card). But that makes privacy a privilege. Data breaches are a thing. #nzpol #ageverification

Regarding Peters and the Regulatory Standards Act, while I agree with him, I wonder if NZF went through the "agree to disagree" process in the coalition agreement, as required by the Cabinet Manual.
