But since then, he filled in all that leafy half you can see to the left of the now-curved main stem. That's almost all new since the big bend. Wow. Balanced and filling out nicely. Bit of a gap still, but maybe he does know what he's doing.

And, I'm not the only one watching him grow...

... I walked across the lawn, coffee in hand, to say my usual 'Good morning' to him, and found to my horror that his trunk was bent way over to the right (see the pic).

Mrs. S. said "Don't worry. He knows what's he's doing."

I waited, in anxiety ...

Until August of this year, Benjamin just had a single trunk shooting up, straight and narrow like a rocket. Not much green stuff, just a slender spire going upwards.

Then, one catastrophic morning in August ...

Benjamin Tree is still a youngster and only his second year in our #garden. With #fall coming he's beginning to glow nicely. He should be showing off nicely in another week or two.

His growth has been fascinating if you have a mind that runs at the speed of watching trees grow.

Update: 3 days later, the robins have stripped the tree of it's berries. Apparently, when the weather turns nippy, robins switch from worms to these berries. Either because they're finally ripe, or because they need a jolt of fat and vitamin C.
