The worst thing about this week’s budget for me was seeing prominent figures in hospitality bemoaning the minimum wage increase because god forbid your staff should earn enough to actually afford, barely, the cost of living.

In a rare moment of feeling a fleeting sense of self-worth (or dare I say pride?), I've just amended my linkedin (🤢) profile to reflect my new role starting on Monday, and in doing so realised how much experience I have in supporting the marginalised and vulnerable.

This is why I've grown as a person and am all for people putting their Christmas tree up in November. Everything is horrendous (in winter but also in general), we need light and warmth.

Everyone says they drank it when they were young, but I drink it now at 80, as I approach middle age. You don’t really need to eat. It seems to be totally nourishing in every way.
