HOWDY AND HELLO #PortfolioDay I'm Kate, a freelance character artist who loves drawing fantasy, women, and especially fantasy women!!!!
I'll be open for work at the start of November!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
A color illustration of a dragonkin/tiefling woman with deep blue skin, closed eyes, tall curved horns with a glowing crescent moon between them, and long wavy hair going from indigo at the top to pale gold at the ends. She is dressed in an indigo gown with lots of gold trim and accessories and sheer blue accent cloth. She is holding a large golden greatsword with blue roses and purple thorns around the guard. The background is an art nouveau-style circular graphic of gold celestial motifs on a black to maroon gradient. A color illustration of a dragonkin/tiefling woman with teal skin, darker turquoise hair in a braid, closed eyes, and a long tail. She is dressed in layers of red, gold, green, and turquoise, and she is holding a wooden staff with a golden lantern hanging from the top. The background is an art nouveau-style panel of stylized grass, lotuses, and clouds on a sunset gradient. A color illustration of a gorgon woman with light and darker green skin/scales, long dark green cobra hair separated by narrow horns, and a long tapered tail. She is dressed in a dark green bustier with gold trim and lots of accessories, and she is holding two crossed swords behind her head. The background is an art nouveau-style panel of thorns and ivy on a black to yellow gradient. A color illustration of my changing moon Lunar oc, Emerald, from an exalted game. She is a middle-aged woman with fair skin, emerald-green eyes with striking red eyeshadow, and long iridescent black hair partly held up by a golden comb with the rest pulled over one shoulder. She is dressed in an elegant green gown with puffy sleeves and a boob window, lots of gold and green jewelry, and a translucent green and gold floaty scarf thingy. The background is a simple green gradient with a crescent moon behind her head.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers the 90's being full of some the most cringeworthy and edgelordy Gamemaster advice ever. That stuff was everywhere and they all thought they what they were suggesting was absolute gold. #ttrpg

This game called Vampire the Masquerade made by this scrappy little company that put out a gaming magazine. Pulled me away from my Game Designers Workshop addiction (it was still a great company) and got me looking at a lot of other games.

Okay, #KPopDemonHunters is a good movie, I'll admit it. Not exactly in my wheelhouse of what I usually like but it was really fun to watch. Which a lot of time fun is better than good in my taste of films.

I do outlines and make notes now. Used to I ran everything off the cuff. But after Covid and my stint on a ventilator, my brain doesn't work like it used to.

There is no actual Christian right. They just use that name as a disguise.

I love the Tron franchise, but he is the reason I'm not going to see the new movie at the theater. I'll wait until it's streaming for free or a friend buys a copy I can borrow.

They'd be realistic in a world with superheroes, but we don't have those.

Tonight's viewing pleasure. A little bit of idea gathering and such for my Transea 1995 game. It's sort of a college students doing X-Files type stuff. Occult, extraterrestrial, etc type of stuff. tubitv.com/movies/10003...

Documents and interviews help shed light on the evidence of alien landings on Earth, as well as the powerful people who hold all the secrets.

Sort of the same although replace the one with "knowledge about the history of roleplaying games through the decades" for me.

Why is it every game that I would want comes out using a system I really don't enjoy? Ah well I'm sure plenty of other folks will enjoy it.

Saw they somebody is doing an official #GhostInTheShell #ttrpg and got excited. Saw it's based off the GitS Arise timeline, little disappointment but I'm still fine. Saw it was using Forged in the Dark for it's system. All interest completely gone.

Funko Pops, most CCGs, hell the first few runs of the WizKids DnD miniatures even did this. It's connected to the 'always hustle' mentality and folks who just hope to make a few extra dollars so they can get by a little easier.

We have become a quick flip investor market. Something gets popular, people notice and buy it up to sell it for a higher cost, shortage due to buy ups make demand shoot up. But when the supply goes up and everyone can get it, price drops and investors start trying to sell out before they lose money.

Over on a local buy/sell/trade group on Facebook I'm seeing a bunch of folks trying to sell their Stanley mugs now. And nobody buying them. Guess they're going the way of the Beanie Babies now.
