We discuss an interesting 51-year-old nautical chart from the National Ocean Survey on Santa Monica Bay. This chart depicts the entirety of Santa Monica Bay, a well-known bay immediately west of Los Angeles known for its vibrant marine scenes, natural beauty, & economic importance. It showcases the developments around the bay as well, including Los Angeles International Airport, the Pacific Palisades, Palos Verdes, & El Segundo. However, these various developments have all expanded since the chart’s publication, & in the case of the Pacific Palisades, have been impacted by horrific wildfires. Hello Ladies & Gentlemen! We are proud to report that our latest beach cleanup was an immense success! We had 2 different groups of people join us in removing bio-hazardous debris which poses a threat to marine animals & beachgoers alike, & were kind enough to give us a few hours of their time! We removed approximately 16 pounds of trash, a shocking portion of which was cigarette butts. Thank you to everyone who attended, & we appreciate all the help that we received! If you missed this cleanup, you may join us at another cleanup on October 18th, 2025.

Introducing to you all “A Lady & the Sea”, a short film about our founder, Gwenevere Persaud, & all of the work that she does with the organization. This documentary is first & foremost about the work of The Persaud Foundation, no particular individual at it. On September 28th, at 12:00 PM PST, we will be releasing it on to Youtube! We thank our fantastic documentarian Joel Brown for his stellar work, & graphic designer @minimalist.queen, for charitably designing this poster! We will be having an oceanic storytime for children at 2:30 PM with the book "Shark Lady: The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean's Most Fearless Scientist", by Jess Keating, & we will be going over some intriguing things about some of the oceans most misrepresented animals, sharks!
