In May 2024 we responded to a consultation on the #LEAFMarque standard that recognises #farming with reduced impact on the #environment.

Beginning next May, the new version will include measures aimed at eliminating peat-based growing media.

Another step forward for #peatfree 🙌

We welcome the expansion of the ban on burning to protect more of the UK's deep peat.

But #Labour must go further to join up policy by committing to legislation to #EndPeatSales - in 2023 761,479 m3 was used for horticulture.

Level the playing field and hit a win-win for #Nature and #Horticulture!
