I absolutelyyy know what you mean, there have been times where I've shown commissions I've gotten and adored to people, and their only response was talking about wanting to use it for inspo for THEIR commissions 😭 Made it so difficult to just enjoy the art for what it was

I think "main character" can mean a lot of things depending on the genre - But to me, the "main character" is the one who viewers/readers are meant to relate to from the start to be their guide through the story. They typically have the most on the line, and grow/evolve the most as the story goes on
