Capitalism exacerbates distress, definitely, but it's not the only root of distress. Someone can hurt me, to the point that I sink into extreme depression, and it's not out of profit motivations.

I understand that capitalism is embedded in everything, but correlation =/= causation. (2/3)

Not all "ignoring the source of distress" advice from mental health professionals is necessarily enabling ignorance and apathy of social issues. Maybe some do, but it's a generalization that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. (1/3)

I still can't make a lot of new content, but I will be entertaining drafts collecting dust in the (digital) shelves for too long. I want to chuck out more lore. I want to revise some lore, too; RIP 2021 me, but she did enjoy the process — and I want to reclaim that liberating joy. (4/4)

The premise of Hetalia is undeniably nationalist/statist. A lot of what I know about histories and cultures, not just for the Philippines, are hinged on some form of bias that I don't believe in — and certainly don't believe in //anymore.// (3/4)

I've been drawing less since returning to university and organizing with youth groups. I've since departed from all those groups for reasons that I cannot ethically reconcile with. I won't elaborate further; I'm still grieving this upheaval I chose for myself. (1/4)

Years of disk horsing about racism and I'm amazed that nobody has ever talked about WHY it keeps happening. 😭 It's wild to expect a revolutionary change from fandom, and then take it out on everyone for not meeting that expectation of yours. This can't stay a vicious cycle forever...
